Lake Garda Italy 9 Days – dates to follow
Lake Garda is the largest and most spectacular lake in Italy. From the rolling hills and vineyards of the wine production area in the South, to the rugged and mountainous North, every inch of this lake offers stunning countryside, impeccable food and wine and friendly and welcoming locals. The excursion itinerary has been put together to make sure you see the very best this area has to offer. The peninsular town of Sirmione and Medieval Borgo Malcesine are two must see places whilst you are here. Also be sure to try the famous gelato, at least one real Italian pizza and an Aperol Spritz, a famous local aperitivo. Apart from the lake itself, with its clear blue waters and blossoming promenades, there are also the world famous Dolomite Mountains, Venice and Verona to explore.
Day 1: Depart from local pick-up point and travel to Dover and short ferry crossing to Calais, re board coach in Calais and travel to overnight stop in Reims.
Day 2: After breakfast continue journey via scenic drive through Switzerland, arrive Lake Garda approx. early evening.
Evening meal and welcome in hotel.
Day 3: Included North Lake Tour: A full day tour around the Northern side of Lake Garda.
Spectacular views of the mountainous countryside and stops at some of the nicest towns including Malcesine, famous for its cobbled streets and Scaliger Castle, Limone, and Riva.
Optional boat ride (at extra cost) available.
Day 4: Included excursion to Venice: A full day tour to the floating city with a motorboat journey directly into St Mark’s Square.
Optional at extra cost: Gondola tour and lagoon tour (larger boat ride around some of the 118 islands that make up Venice).
Day 5: Included South Lake Tour: A half day tour around the Southern side of the lake. Passing through the rolling hills of the wine country and stopping at two of the prettiest towns on the lake. Sirmione is surrounded by water being on the peninsular and offers spectacular views.
Optional at extra cost: Scaliger Castle and boat ride around the peninsular (highly recommended).
Day 6: Included Dolomites tour: A full day tour of the Dolomite Mountains. Stops at the most scenic photo points and the chance to taste authentic apple strudel!
Day 7: Included Verona: A day in the city of love. A truly beautiful city, home to Juliet’s balcony and the wonderful Roman Ampitheatre, plenty of great shopping.
At extra cost: Guided tour.
Day 8: After breakfast depart from hotel in Lake Garda and travel to overnight stop in Reims.
Day 9: After breakfast continue journey to Calais and short ferry crossing to Dover, re board our coach and travel to your local drop-off point.
