Day 1: Travel from local pick-up point to Hull and overnight ferry crossing to Rotterdam.
Day 2: Travel to Cologne and board Virginia River Cruiser.
Day 3 – 4: Cruising the Rhine River on-board MS Virginia.
Day 6: Depart after breakfast from Virginia River Cruiser and travel to Amsterdam for short visit before continuing to Rotterdam Ferry Terminal and overnight ferry to Hull.
Day 7: Arrive Hull, board our coach for return journey to local drop-off point.
The number one attraction in Cologne is the Cathedral, with visitors of around 6.5 million visitors per year. The Gothic towers are approximately 157 metres high and were finally finished in 1880. Due to the architecture in the impressive Gothic style, the three Wise Men shrine, stained glass windows and works of art, the Cathedral has been declared a Unesco World Heritage site in 1996.
With more than 40 museums Cologne offers a multifaceted scape, the Romano Germanic, Ludwig and Wallraf Richartz are the most important museums. The Chocolate Museum most popular in Cologne.
The historic Rheinauhafen maritime harbour quarter promenade with international flair was built combined with historical and modern facets of Cologne. The three 60 metre high Crane Houses are the centre of attention and are combined with modern apartments and office accommodation together with restored old buidings. This is all an eyecatcher on the skyline of the left bank on the Rhine River. This quarter is an attractive spot with numerous café bars, restaurants and galleries.
Visit the fragrance museum where Eau de Cologne was borne, A guided tour will explain a three hundred year history of Farina. In the chamber you immerse yourself in the world of fragrances from Johann Maria Farina who developed the original Eau de Cologne, and take in the smell of different essences.
Boutiques are situated in Ehrenstrabe and Breite Strabe, an exciting and funky area of fashion and shoe shops, modern cafes and specialised shops. The Belgian Quarter which has small and individual shops plus young designers and cosy café restaurant bars is another great place to shop. The shop of Madame Miammiam is not to be missed with yummy fancy cakes.
Surrounded by four low mountain ranges, and situated in the picturesque landscape of the Rhine and Moselle rivers, is the 2000 year old town of Coblenz. Its cosy lanes and narrow alleyways with an abundance of cultural historic monuments and buildings, with happy and relaxed atmosphere of its squares and the river promenade making Koblenz a town where guests can feel home.

This appealing ship has an intimate convivial mood. There are 54 cabins, including four luxury and two single cabins. The Virginia has a stylish furnished lounge with bar and dance floor and a tastefully furnished restaurant. The cabins were recently completely renovated. This ship primarily sails on the rhine and Moselle.
